About Us

Two moms. Two babies. Two countries.

We are two women trotting the globe with a newborn and a toddler.  We are wrapping up an era in Colombia where Amy conceived two children and we are headed to Kazakhstan where we will start the middle of our relationship--and hopefully grow the family.

We dedicate this blog to any other unconventional parents out there whether they be same-sex partners trying to navigate the complexities of introducing their families and children's friends to the idea of two moms or two dads, expats daring to integrate cross-cultural child care or international schools into the mix, or single, working, parents pursing attachment parenting in cultures that don't embrace feeding on demand, baby wearing, or delayed vaccinations.  Come along for the ride.

We are two moms, women, co-parents on the fly, on the road, and online (although no screens in front of the kids).

Who are we?

Meet Mary--the nurturing, domestic powerhouse, English language expert, and communication Ph.D who makes homemade play dough and video documentaries when she isn't teaching public speaking to Chinese students or bringing the arts and humanities to a maximum-security prison.

Meet Amy--the bold, resourceful, leader of the pack who sets up urban ashrams everywhere she lands. She teaches meditation and yoga in the morning, operates in multiple languages as a foreign service officer with USAID, and tandem breast feeds while teaching baby sign language by day and co-sleeping by night.

Meet Santiago--19-month-old naked yoga expert who doubles as a tri-lingual sous chef.

Meet Zadie--hitchhiking, savvy, newborn with a serious case of wanderlust--born yesterday.
